Driving lesson

Three young men of driving age. They have been inseparable since elementary school, but right at the beginning of the plot it becomes apparent that their paths lead in different directions. Gerrit, the narrating protagonist with an untapped potential for maturity, is finally persuaded at the beginning of the plot by his straightforward and practical girlfriend to get his driver's license.

Finally, he breaks free and cheats on her, only to be surprised to find out on this occasion that his girlfriend, who had loved him unconditionally until then, can do otherwise. Her revenge gives the word "resentful" an excitingly expanded meaning.

His friend Mike, a technology freak, takes driving lessons at another driving school. And although Mike is actually a gifted driver, he of all people has a serious accident during a driving lesson where his friends are allowed to accompany him.

Eugen, the third of the friends, already has a driver's license. And when he's not driving his friends in his old rust bucket, he's chauffeuring his possessive girlfriend, who loves and hates her boyfriend and at the same time. This proves to be a catalyst that dramatically accelerates the disintegration of the three young men's friendship, which in the end proves to be exceedingly fatal for Eugen and Mike.
